Ashtanga winter retreat for yoga practitioners

16 – 22 January 2027

As we leave the darkest days of the year behind, Claudia and Veronica invite you to the jungle to clear the heaviness of winter and get ready for a new cycle. It’s a week to connect within, with each other and with this land, and to let go of patterns that no longer serve you. Practices from different ancient traditions help the body and mind relax, open and move freely, as the light begins to rise again.

The Retreat Practices

Yoga: Mysore-style Ashtanga every morning, then meditation and pranayama, with Yin and restorative practice in the evenings. All levels are welcome.
Breathwork: an active breathing meditation, gentle but powerful, to release energy that feels stuck.
Circles: conscious relating and self-inquiry, connecting through sharing and being witnessed.
Movement: authentic and free movement, to inhabit the body more fully.

Honouring the Land

Learning from the healing rituals of the Maya, the retreat includes a cacao ceremony in circle, a temazcal, an evening of kirtan, and a visit to a local cenote. On site, you can also book holistic therapies, massage, sound healing and medicinal rituals with Pamela at an extra cost.

Your Facilitators

Claudia has practised Ashtanga for nearly 25 years and has run a Mysore program in Amsterdam for more than 15. Veronica has taught Ashtanga for over a decade and holds space through somatic, movement and ceremonial work in Vancouver. Together they hold a safe, sacred space, with private guidance whenever you need it.

Return of the Light

16 – 22 January 2027

Whether you come for a deep week of practice, a quiet reset, or something in between, you’re invited to feel moment by moment what you need. If you have a regular Mysore practice, this retreat is very much for you.
